It's every father fear that their kid is going to come home crying because they were picked on by a bully. My son is only seven years old and he is the sweetest nicest kid with many great friends. When he got off the bus the other day crying I knew that it could only mean one thing, he had been hit by a bully. I already knew who the kid was before my son told me and I wasn't happy about it. As a parent, many things raced through my mind. Should I go down the block and take the kid out myself, should I talk to the parents who I know don't give a damn anyway, or should I hire someone to hurt him? Before I go any further I just want to say that I would never hurt a child, but seeing my son crying, the emotions you get as a parent can lead you to do crazy things. Someone has to teach this bully a lesson.
I hope that teaches this little punk a lesson to not mess with my son.
Im sorry that happened man. You handled it much better than I would have. I have no patience or tolerance for that kind of stuff. But trying to be an adult I wouldnt want to be a bully either and that wouldnt teach my kids anything. I think you might have been better off using R2-D2 and having him give the bully a little shock. I hope your son is feeling better about the situation and I hope you are too.
ReplyDeleteAny of them would probably work on him... A little shock therapy might work do the trick next time
ReplyDeleteI wish I had friends like yours!
ReplyDeleteSeriously though, that really sucks. I have no idea how I am going to handle the inevitable bullying and that kinda scares me.
Happy #CommentDay!
I think it's one of those things that hopefully they are surrounded by a good group of friends who stand by them. There is always going to a situation where someone doesn't like you, it's important to not let that person get to you and be confident in yourself.
ReplyDeleteBullying is awful. My son had an incident several summers ago. When the camp didn't take action I called the other child's father and asked for his help. I made sure to explain that if he didn't help there would be severe consequences.
ReplyDeleteFortunately that took care of the situation. Sorry that you have to deal with this.
We'll see where this goes. Hopefully it's nothing more than a kid who was trying to be funny. If he keeps it up, the joke will be on him.
ReplyDeleteOkay, John as a parent and a teacher living in the same great state, you have a new option... Go to the school and report it. The new laws say that the school must act as the mediator and deal with it.
ReplyDeleteI stopped wasting my time trying to talk to the "other" parents when I realized it usually falls on deaf ears. I also let my kids know that no matter what... It's okay to defend yourself.
I re-posted your status regarding bullying. I was bullied as a kid...you never really get over it. But there was one girl who helped me to realize that not all kids are bad. It saved me from what could have been possibly suicide or homicide on my part.
ReplyDeleteHopefully this is an isolated incident, I have heard nothing from my son about anything else. I have actually heard that the kids are all amazing together. I know this kid and I have never really liked him, I will keep my eye on him... or sick my younger son on him.
ReplyDeleteWell thank god for that one girl... kids need to realize that they have a full life ahead of them and one bully when they are kids is not worth losing a life over.
ReplyDeleteI have some extra Lego folks if you need back up!
ReplyDeleteLets rally the gang! I'll bring Hagrid... he's bigger than everyone
